Pre-Draft thoughts…4/19/09

Hey everyone!

I know I have been a bit recluse since the end of the Patriots season, I guess you could say I needed the break.  Now is a great time in the Football season though which is why I couldn’t continue my silence.

There have been a lot of changes to the 2009 Patriots.  First being VP of Player Personnel Scot Pioli has left for KC and Offensive Coordinator bolted for Denver.  But some of the biggest changes will happen this coming weekend since the team will add as many as 11 draft picks to the roster.  Even if they trade away a few of these picks there will undoubtedly be undrafted free agents brought it.  All 11 players will be the New Player Personnel Nick Caserio’s first he will put his name on and thus will be interesting to see if the team changes its approach at all with Caserio or even if there is a shift in drafting philosophy.

Today I’m going to concentrate on the upcoming draft and I’m going to save my thoughts on other pre-draft signings as well as defection for another post.

Help Support Jodi's Journal

I enjoy keeping you informed about all things Patriots.  However as the time as gone on it has become more and more time consuming.  Making it at times a second job.  One that doesn't pay for my time but also costs money to run.  A few years ago I went to a pay web service which removed all pop up ads from Jodi's Journal and made your experience more enjoyable.

Help me keep Jodi's Journal pop up free and maybe a few dollars for my many, many hours spent trying to bring you all things Patriots. Donate what you can every little bit helps.

Noble Challenge 2008 Results

So it was a long year and we finally have a winner (ok two winners...Ha!)  Michael G. of Dartmouth, MA and Bob G. of Westport, MA went head to head in Week 17 for the Championship and..............Bob G. of Westport, MA is the WINNER!!!!  He had a record of 11 and 5 and a whopping 68% Y.T.D.  Whoa!!

Going head to head for the Noble Challenge Biggest Loser was Walter K. of N. Providence, RI and Ron F. of Fall River, MA and............Ron F. of Fall River, MA wins the Noble Challenge Biggest Loser.  He forfeited by NOT submitting picks for Week 17.

Now Week 17...had a Winner!!! and surprisingly enough it was Walter K. of N. Providence who came up with a big performance to stay out of the basement...he had 13 and 3 record.

One last note...I want to also commend Dolores F. of Fall River, MA for finishing with the MOST WINS for the season.  She picked EVERY week and finished with the most wins for the year.

So congrats!!! to all the winners!!!  and to all the rest better luck you next season...

Kirwan's Korner

Pat Kirwan writes for NFL.com and as an acquaintance of mine, he has greatly influenced my thoughts about football (the business, the game and it's players.)  It has become a priority that I read all of Pat's article's so I am inviting you to do the same.
